Prior to practicing law, Bryan M. Cowley gained invaluable academic and “real world” work experience that has made him a versatile attorney.
As an undergraduate student at Southern Utah University, Bryan double majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice. He received recognition as the Criminal Justice Department Outstanding Student of the Year and served as a SUUSA Senator. Bryan worked as a detention and secure care counselor for the State of Utah’s Division of Juvenile Justice Services, and in the private sector as an Executive Team Leader of Assets Protection for Target Corporation, and as Department Head of Criminal Justice at Everest College.
While working full-time as an educator, Bryan earned a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA). Bryan gained experience assisting individuals in purchasing and selling real estate as a licensed Utah Realtor and advised students, and taught college business and accounting courses as a Program Administrator of Business and Accounting for Eagle Gate College.
Attorney at Law
As a senior law student approved by the Supreme Court of Illinois, Bryan participated actively in the Elder Law Clinic, where he served the community by helping elderly clients with their wills, trusts, advance directives and other legal concerns. Bryan also participated in the Juvenile Justice Clinic where he attended court proceedings and corroborated with an attorney guardian ad-litem. Bryan’s senior law seminar was entitled “Privatization of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac – Creating Taxpayer Relief for “Too Urgent to Fail” Housing Finance Reform”
Bryan’s practice includes personal injury, bankruptcy, estate planning, guardianship, business formation, business services, employment law, real estate, and general matters. Bryan is a member of the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council, American Bar Association, and the Utah Bar Association. Bryan is admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the District of Utah and the Supreme Court of the State of Utah.
Bryan and his wife Lindsey have four children. In his free time, Bryan enjoys spending time with his family, reading, outdoor recreation, i.e., fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and athletics.
